Is showing the space occupied by the first two partition entries again as free space occurring after the third partition entry.

TheĬommand is incorrectly displaying the first two partition entries as occurring before the third partition entry. The above output shows the partitions are not stored in ascending order in the GPT.

This command shows the partition location data stored in the GPT. Since I am using a sparse disk image, I can enter the command Below is a image of the Disk Utility application showing the grayed out Partition can not be removed using the Disk Utility application. Also in both instances, the output from theĬommand shows the size sum of the first two partitions equals the size of the free space. Just as in the OP's question, the sum of the individual sizes do not equal the total size. The identifier assign to this sparse disk image isĢ: Apple_APFS Container disk3 177.2 GB disk2s2ģ: Microsoft Basic Data 73.5 GB disk2s3

To illustrate the problem, I created a sparse disk image which has a partition arrangement similar to the one occurring on the drive described in the OP's question. In the OP's case, this is not true, which caused theĬommand to produce the flawed output shown in the OP's question. In order to display correct output, theĬommand often requires the partitions to be stored in ascending in the GUID Partition Table (GPT). This partition can not be removed using the Disk Utility application, because the partition in not the next partition after the ❯ sudo diskutil eraseVolume JHFS+ drive disk0s3īy this time my whole disk is just messed up. Sudo diskutil eraseVolume JHFS+ drive disk0s3 Now when I try to remove it again, the '-' button is grayed out, like this: I have tried removing the bootcamp partition manually with disk utility, but it tells me that it failed. 2: Apple_APFS Container disk1 180.0 GB disk0s2Ġ: APFS Container Scheme - +180.0 GB disk1ġ: APFS Volume Macintosh HD - Data 138.4 GB disk1s1ĥ: APFS Volume Macintosh HD 15.5 GB disk1s5Ħ: APFS Snapshot .update.
